Family Permit Applications (Overseas)

EEA Family Permit is designed for family members of EEA and Swiss nationals who will be entering to the UK. To be eligible for EEA Family Permit, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a non-EEA and non-Swiss national.
  • Be a family member, carer or extended family member of an EEA and Swiss national.

EEA Family Permit is valid for 6 months at a time. Within the first 6 months of arrival in the UK, the dependent of EEA National is advised to apply for an EAA Residence Card.

 

Residence Card Applications for EEA Nationals

EEA Nationals do not have to obtain a Residence Card to stay in the UK but they can apply for a registration certificate as  a proof of their right as an EEA national to live and work in the UK.

 

Permanent Residency Applications for EEA Nationals

As an EEA national, you may be eligible to apply for Permanent Residency (PR) if you meet following conditions:

  • Have legally lived in the UK for a continuous period of 5 years.
  • Be a ‘qualified person’ including worker, self-employed, student, jobseeker or self-sufficient person.

Residence Card Applications for EEA Nationals’ Dependents

EEA Residence Card for EEA Nationals’ Dependents is designed for family members of EEA and Swiss nationals to confirm their right of residence in the UK. To be eligible for EEA Residence Card for EEA Nationals’ Dependents, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a non-EEA and non-Swiss national.
  • Be family member or extended family member of an EEA and Swiss national in the UK.
  • Your family member must have UK permanent residence or be ‘qualified person’ including worker, self-employed person, student, jobseeker or self-sufficient person categories.

EEA Residence Card for EEA nationals’ dependents is usually valid up to 5 years. After completing this process, you may apply for EEA Permanent Residence Card if you satisfy the appropriate conditions.

 

Permanent Residency Applications for EEA Nationals’ Dependents

Permanent Residency Application for EEA Nationals’ Dependents is designed for family members of EEA and Swiss nationals who will be entering to the UK. To be eligible for Permanent Residency for EEA Nationals’ Dependents, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have lived with your EEA family member in the UK for a continuous 5 years.
  • Your family member must have UK permanent residence or be ‘qualified person’ including worker, self-employed person, jobseeker or self-sufficient person for 5 years period.
  • Be a non-EEA and non-Swiss national.
  • Be family member or extended family member of an EEA and Swiss national in the UK.

EU Settlement Scheme (Settled and Pre-settled Status)

Under the EU Settlement Scheme, European Economic Area (EEA) nationals and their qualifying family members are entitled to apply for Settled or Pre-settled Status depends on their personal profile.

 

Settled Status

If you are an EEA National or a family member of EEA national who have lived in the UK for a continuous 5 years period, you may be eligible to apply for Settled Status, mostly known as Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).

 

Pre-settled Status

The EEA Nationals or family members of EEA national who have not lived in the UK for a continuous 5 years period, they may be eligible to apply for Pre-settled Status, also known as Limited Leave to Remain.
